So you want to have the fastest growing company inthe world. Any one coach or entrepreneur can tellyou it takes teamwork, time management, organizational, innovation and executional skills.
Almost always right, but what does it take to make agreat company in today's world. Why are companieslike Microsoft expanding and companies like GMdecreasing. Is it technology, partly, innovation, partly but not completely.
What makes the best companies rise to the top? Whatmakes a company go from $0-$1,000,000 in 1 year. Whatmakes a company go from $11,000,000- $20,000,000plus in one year.
The answer is the S word. The S word changeseverything, but you have to create the S. S takestime, collaboration, constant, collective, communication at all levels. However S takes morethan this, it takes exectuable action. S issomething like the atmosphere, it is made up of abunch of things, energy, some positive, somenegative, molecules, tiny particles.
The best and most successful businesses have systemsin place. NO, SYSTEMS IS NOT THE S WORD.
Everyone has systems, effective systems are betterbut what are effective systems?
We are almost there, but not quite!
Why are gold medal athletes such?HOW DO TOP ATHLETES ALWAYS OUTPERFORM OTHERS? Theyhave a trainer, there is lots of hard work, theystudy other successful people. Why then is the goldnext year not a repeat of the successfulpresentation that it was last year? Something haschanged. Like the way the evolution in weatherchanges, the rules of the game change. What isconsidered exceptional changes?, what is importantchanges?
So what is it? What is the S word?
Very few entrepreneurs have the S word.
"Overall shifts in wealth concentration are matchedby changes in the wealth of those at the very top ofthe income distribution. Today we call those at thevery top of the income distribution"billionaires"--for their wealth is more than onebillion dollars. According to Forbes Magazine'sattempts to count, the year 1996 saw some 132billionaires in America--and of the top twenty, atleast four owed their wealth to Microsoft: the threeMicrosoft billionaires William Gates, Paul Allen, and Steven Ballmer, and Intel founder Gordon Moorewhose wealth has been greatly multiplied by thesynergies between Microsoft software and Intelmicroprocessors over the past two decades."
J. Bradford DeLongUniversity of California at Berkeley, and NBERfirst draft October 13, 1997; second draft January1, 1998
Does the S WORD have to do with innovation in newfrontiers, railroad, energy, transportation, software revolution.
Yes, partly but the S WORD has more to it thaninnovation and technology. The S WORD is notsomething that can be developed too easily, or tooquickly.
Some of the best marketers, like Jay Abraham knowwhat the S WORD is.
The S WORD works in every industry, in every countryin every product or service.
However not many people strive to achieve the SWORD. Some have heard about it, others try toimitate, but not many consistently continue to doit. Even billionaires, millionaires and large motorgiants like GM had the S WORD, but they lost it,they lost it over time.
Microsoft is one such company that has achieved the S WORD, next issue we will reveal the S WORD.
